Custom tents

If your space is unusual, includes obstacles, or features buildings you’d like to attach to, a custom tent is your ideal solution.

At Glorious Gazebos, we specialise in these types of installations and are proud to have taken on—and succeeded in—some of the UK’s most ambitious and creative stretch tent designs.

A custom tent is exactly that: custom. From the fabric colour to the option of printing your logo directly onto the tent, every detail is tailored to your needs.

These tents are laser-cut to fit your exact space, allowing them to be attached to multiple anchor points throughout your venue. This maximises your usable space and offers an excellent opportunity to boost footfall—and ultimately, profit.

We offer a range of customisation options, described in detail further down this page. You can even earn money back with our “hire-back option.”

The Custom tent design process

Once the proposed tent has been approved and confirmed as within budget, our director, Brett, will visit your venue to begin the design process. This is a meticulous stage that involves taking detailed measurements of the space and discussing your vision for the finished tent.

Key considerations during this visit include fixing points, any bespoke steel bracket fabrication required, water drainage routes, and the optimal placement of centre poles.

Following this site visit, we send the drawings and measurements to our specialist team in South Africa, where 2D and 3D rendered designs are created.

Once the design, colour, branding, and final details are approved—and a deposit has been received—you’ll just need to look forward to the installation, when all the planning and investment come to life.

Due to seasonal demand and the complexity of custom designs, these tents typically take 4–6 weeks to cut, manufacture, and air freight to the UK.

The Keder Rail

This fabulous invention takes custom tents to a whole new level. If you’re looking for a truly watertight connection to your property, you have the option of integrating this system directly into your tent.

An aluminum profile rail is fixed to the building, while a flexible plastic bar is sewn into the tent. This allows the tent to sit flush against the structure—creating a secure, weatherproof seal. To install, we simply slide the tent fabric into the rail and then rig the tent as usual.

The custom tent install process

As the tent nears completion, we work closely with the manufacturer to coordinate freight and delivery to the UK. Once an arrival date is confirmed, we’ll get in touch with you to arrange a suitable installation day. Throughout the process, we’ll keep you fully informed and are happy to schedule the install at a time that minimises any disruption to your business.

The installation itself is straightforward, as all fixture and fitting points will have been carefully planned in advance. All we ask is that any movable obstacles—such as tables and chairs—are cleared to give us the space we need to work efficiently.

Hey presto—your stunning and functional stretch tent is ready to go, enhancing your business both financially and aesthetically.

Case Studies - Below are some examples of some tents we sold last season

The Samual Palmer

Nestled in the beautiful village of Shoreham in Kent, this 16th-century pub had recently changed hands, with the new owner eager to make the most of the enclosed courtyard garden.

The brief: To cover as much of the courtyard as possible, with a watertight join above the door leading into the courtyard. The goal was to create a cosy space where winter patrons could dine alfresco—warm, comfortable, and unaffected by the weather.

The solution: Without a doubt, one of my favourite—and most challenging—projects to date. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase the skills we’ve honed over the years.

To achieve the client’s vision, we incorporated the Kedar rail system to form a watertight seal between the tent and the wall of the pub above the exit, ensuring rainwater wouldn’t fall onto guests as they entered the courtyard. We also designed bespoke brackets to lift the tent over an existing oak-framed outbuilding, again preventing water ingress and cleverly directing rainwater into the venue’s existing drainage system.

Bower In The Wood

A fabulous woodland wedding venue in East Sussex, one we’ve had the pleasure of working with for years, boasts a unique woodland dining area nestled deep in the forest. Surrounded by towering trees, the unusually shaped dining tables posed a challenge— a standard-sized stretch tent simply wouldn’t provide enough coverage for the entire seating area.

The brief: After I casually floated (pardon the pun!) the idea of a floating stretch tent suspended between the trees to cover the entire dining space, the client was immediately intrigued and requested a quote.

The solution: This concept was my own vision, as I could easily imagine a custom tent rigged to the natural obstacles, creating a stunning masterpiece of stretch tent rigging. My design involved cutting a hole in the canopy to allow an oak tree to protrude through, adding an enchanting focal point. The tent would be anchored to the surrounding trees, with two sections extended to cover the far ends of the unconventional dining tables, ensuring complete coverage and a comfortable dining space for over 100 guests.
