We experienced a challenging year in our previous fruit & vegetable industry. To adapt, we decided to start a small side business offering gazebo hire to friends and family for their events and gatherings.
We incorporate and officially form Glorious Gazebos Ltd and our first basic website is launched. We begin to add other inventory to our stock such as lights, heaters, tables and chairs.
The business begins to gather momentum and during the summer months I’m pleasantly surprised to find ourselves out most weekends popping our gazebos up at various events.
A great year with many customers returning to use our services for garden parties, village fetes and small festivals.
We quit the fruit and vegetable game, took a hiatus in Thailand for 2 months, doubled our warehouse space, purchased new stock and employed our first seasonal rigger. Our turnover doubles!
The business really begins to grow with our turnover yet again doubling, we start to win corporate clients, and our name starts to circulate amongst the event companies in and around London.
Another year of amazing growth, our inventory grew to around 40 gazebos in multiple sizes, and we purchased a second van and a large trailer.
The pandemic hits and fears for our business are unjustified, we keep the nation covered by adapting to the needs of the pandemic. We supply NHS vaccination centres, supermarkets and various businesses with temporary cover.
The government’s bounce-back loan allows us to invest in “stretch tents” and “pagoda marquees”. These fabulous festivalesque tents change the game for us opening multiple opportunities.
With the nation locked down for the last 2 years, summer 22 kicks off with a bang. We tender and win our first job in Trafalgar Square leading to huge growth and recognition in the events industry. Our 3rd van is purchased, and we employ multiple seasonal staff.
Now firmly established in our industry we invest in more structures taking our total to over 100, we employ Kristian as our operations manager and regularly setting up at some of the most prestigious events across the South East we can’t wait for summer 2024.
Bookings are double that to the same date as 2023, our director takes a trip to the home of the stretch tent (South Africa) purchasing another 10 tents and receiving advanced training in custom rigging techniques.
We are excited about the future as we continue to expand our stock, refine our services and secure even more high-profile events. We’re committed to providing exceptional experiences for our customers with the coming years set to be even more successful as we grow and innovate!
